Parish Records 17/71837 shows the marriage of Sarah's brother Charles Amor - Son of Joseph Amor, (Tin man and Brazier) to Elizabeth House - Daughter of Henry House, (Yeoman). The witnesses were Thomas Hounsell and Sarah Amor. Parish Records 20/05/1839 shows the marriage of Sarah's sister Rebecca Amor (a Servant) - Daughter of Joseph Amor, (Tin Man) to Jesse Lodge, (Blacksmith) - Son of James Lodge, (Labourer). Sarah and Thomas obviously married some time between these two events. The 1841 Census shows Sarah as a Straw bonnet maker. No occupation was given for Thomas. They had William Amor age 11, Edwin Amor age 9, and Charlotte Amor, age 7, (Sarahs brothers and sister) staying with them. When Thomas was born in 1846 the family were living at Grays Inn Place. The 1851 Census of Upwey, Dorset, Shows Sarah as Head of Household, age 33, Mason's Wife. living with Mary Ann, Emma Jane, Frederick and Thomas (son). Sarah died in Childbirth in 1854. By the Census of 1881 Broadway, Dorset, Thomas 62 , born in Osmington, (a Stonemason employing one man and three boys), was living with his second wife, Sarah 64, unmarried son Walter, and Sister in law Elizabeth Pashen 71(a widow). It also shows a visitor, George Roper, 35, a Stonemason, one of Sarah's sons by her first marriage. Sarah was a widow with three sons when she married Thomas, |
