When Josie was younger she played the clarinet and saxophone for The Southend Bluejackets, a marching band. They performed all over the country, including Birmingham NEC and Wembley Arena and the Dublin St Patricks Day Parade. After studying Sports Science at college she became a bank clerk! She later became a Duty Manager and Assistant Health and Fitness Manager at David Lloyd Club, Basildon, which has one of the largest gyms in Europe, but due to the low wages and unsociable hours decided to return to Banking. After working for The Royal Bank of Scotland she has now managed to fulfil her lifetime ambition and has become a police officer.
