Hi everyone
My interests are: Joseph HOUNSELL (born 1791 in Dorset, UK) who married Jane
WEBBER on 25 December 1815 at Bradpole, Dorset, England. They had at least one
son - Absalom Absalom HOUNSELL (born 1832 in Bridport, Dorset, UK). In 1881
he was a net braider. He married Ellen and they had at least two daughters -
Christiana (b. 1864) and Emily (b. 1865) Emily HOUNSELL (b. 1865) in Bridport,
Dorset, d. 20 February 1920.
My Grandfather was Jack HOUNSELL, a farmer outside of Bridport. My father Robert HOUNSELL farmed outside of Lyme Regis. I am the only son James.
If anyone on the Hounsell list has access to birth records of Lee Co., VA, I would like to ask for a lookup of James Hounshell, born sometime between 1875 - 1880. Thank you!
Hi,
A friend has sent me some Dorset HOUNSELL marriages for areas away from the
main hub of families in and around Bridport. I wondered if they belonged to
anybody?
Blandford
1747 Apr 19 John JENKINS and Mary HOUNSELL
1796 Apr 1796 Henry Hounsell of Wimburn [Wimborne] and Mary LANCE
Charminster
1829 Oct 15 William DAVIS and Jane HOUNSELL
Regards Maureen Bowler Caerphilly,
I think the Henry who married Mary Lance was Henry Lowman Hounsell, son of William and Elizabeth. Cheers, Karen
Hi Karen, Thanks for replying - it's nice to hear from you
again.
I have recently received a list of the Hounsel(l) burials at Long Bredy and
it shows one for Henry Hounsel 14 Feb 1777 son of William and Elizabeth So I
guess the one who married at Blandford must be a different Henry unless they
had a later son called Henry? If there are any HOUNSELL burials you would like
me to look for in Long Bredy, let me know. Regards Maureen

Whilst at the PRO, Kew the other day, I looked at the army discharge papers for Thomas Hounsell who was born about 1770 in Dorchester St Peters, He enlisted in 1796 at the age of 26 and was discharged in Aug 1814 aged about 44. I wondered if he belongs to anybody. If he does I will gladly sent further details. Regards Maureen Bowler Caerphilly, South Wales Maureen Bowler
Does anyone know anything about Jim Hounsel and Essie Carper from Cove, Polk Co., AR? One source shows them as William Hansel and L. Essie Carper. They were married 10/19/1910 in Vandervoort, Polk Co., AR. They were my grandparents. Essie was born in 1894, and Jim was born about 1889 or 1890. I would appreciate any help anyone can give me.
